Richard Ingrams and George baker

present

An Evening with Cobbett

The celebrated founder of Private Eye and The Oldie brings to our season his unique brand of wry humour, coupled with a vast knowledge of William Cobbett.

Ingrams' celebrated 2005 biography of Cobbett, The Life and Adventures of William Cobbett,  was a critical success and informed a new generation about this neglected son of England. In conjunction with our production of Battling Billy, Ingrams will talk about Cobbett, take questions on a variety of topics and sell autographed copies of his books.

Ingrams is joined by George Baker, (TV's Inspector Wexford) who will voice William Cobbett among others.

Stefan Bednarczyk

presents a Sunday Special:

An Evening of Flanders and Swann

Songs such as Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud, I'm a Gnu and The Slow Train have happily slipped into our national culture.

Stefan put this evening together following a request by the widows of Michael Flanders and Donald Swann, and it had a sell-out run at the Jermyn Street Theatre before touring internationally.

Bednarczyk alternately charmed and convulsed his audience.

Please note: this show replaces the previously advertised evening with Hannah Gordon and Peter Egan.

9 September

at 7.30

in the NFRAC marquee at the Library Gardens, Farnham.
