New Farnham Repertory Company:

Our Mission (continued)

The New Farnham Repertory Actors' Company, unlike its previous incarnation, the New Farnham Repertory Company, is not a campaigning organisation. That mantle has passed to the Farnham Theatre Association.

The contents of this page do not represent the activities of the new company and will shortly be moved into the archive section of the website.

What the NFRC did in 2004

for the people of Waverley

  • Responded to the cultural objectives contained in the South East Plan, making a major contribution to the identity and quality of life of the people of Waverley and Farnham

  • Supported the cultural aspirations of the current Waverley administration

  • Promoted the position of Farnham as a centre for culture

  • Engaged the people of Waverley and Farnham successfully in cultural activities

  • Encouraged the young people of Waverley and Farnham to develop their awareness of theatre, thereby increasing the level of sustainability and enhancing cultural diversity

  • Made easily accessible its facilities to those with disabilities, or otherwise disadvantaged.

This was achieved by

Providing 26 performances, bringing pleasure to 3,500 customers over the 2004 summer season

Giving a free performance for schools (with more to come in 2005)

Reaching out to young people directly, by providing workshops at schools (more planned for 2005)

Giving a free performance for the disabled and disadvantaged (Charlie’s Aunt). (One is planned for each production in 2005.)

Providing two spectacular performing events in Waverley

Bringing business to the town of Farnham

Bringing visitors to Farnham to discover the delights of the town (some from over 200 miles away)

Encouraging traders to use the opportunity offered for evening meals (discussions to take place with the Chamber of Commerce)

Supporting the development of professional actors

Encouraging the involvement of local groups and local amateur actors (more to be included in 2005)

Adopting an “Inclusive” philosophy — keeping seat prices low to encourage the less well off and to foster the discovery of theatre

Supporting other local charities by putting on special performances

Being acknowledged at National level as a provider of high artistic achievement.
